Baritone Smiley "Roy" Maxedon had one of the most remarkable voices in the history of Hillbilly Music. He was a highly underrated artist who died in 2001 almost unnoticed. He recorded in Hollywood. One of the members of the Okaw Valley Boys was electric guitarist Roy Nichols (he recorded over 100 sides with the Maddox Brothers & Rose band). Steel guitar, fiddle and bass players are not known, but they really sound very professional. All items were recorded from ca. 1951 to 1954. An absolutely must for fans of genuine early to mid 50s Hillbilly music.
